Give a lot. Receive a lot.

image thumb3 Give a lot. Receive a lot. In partnerships, trust is important. Are you with me so far?

I’m talking about business partnerships, but it’s definitely also true in personal partnerships, say, marriages. Now, given that trust is a prerequisite for a partnership, please remember to actually trust your partner. You will have to hope that your partner also trusts you. Well, isn’t that really what trust is?

But more important than these abstract principles of trust, let me tell you why it’s so important to trust. If you do not trust your partner, you will constantly be arguing about who gives and receives what and how much – and the conditions of doing so. It takes a lot of time and all of that time does not really give any benefit to either of you. Time spent arguing is essentially lost, so it should be limited as much as possible. There is no partnership that is completely fair and there never will be. The most fair partnership is one that doesn’t exist, because then both partners give and receive the same. Nothing.

So stop focusing on making the partnership fair. Give a lot. Just hope – and trust! – that your partner does the same. If you cannot do that, then what you have is not a partnership.

Give a lot. Receive a lot. Stop worrying about who gives or gets the most and you’ll both receive a lot. But it requires trust.

… and don’t forget to apply this at home.

i love it:)however usually the partnerships where u dont count give nd take thing, is fair nd balances out for both.If one person gives a lot nd the other person less,it usually motivates the person who gives less to give a lot too…i learnt tht from my best friend..and then later applied tht at work nd the results r always positive:)love the way u wrote such a simple fact so nicely:)
